Islam’s Colonial Victims: The Berbers, Copts, and Assyrians (Case Studies of Erased Civilizations)

In my last post, I laid out the brutal truth: Islam is the most successful colonizer in world history.
But let’s get specific.

Let’s talk about real peoples — real civilizations — that were crushed, erased, and Arabized under Islamic conquest.

1. The Berbers (North Africa)

  • Before Islam, North Africa was home to the Berbers — an ancient people with vibrant cultures, languages, and kingdoms like Numidia and Mauretania.

  • When Arab-Muslim armies invaded (7th century AD), the Berbers fought fiercely. Leaders like Kahina — a Berber queen — resisted valiantly.

  • But after brutal wars, forced conversions, massacres, and the imposition of the Arabic language and Islamic law, Berber identity was systematically crushed.

  • Today, in countries like Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco, many Berbers have been so Arabized that they don’t even know their true ethnic roots.
The few Berbers who retain their language (like the Amazigh) face political marginalization.

Islam didn’t just "spread" in North Africa — it was imposed through blood and fire, erasing a native civilization.

2. The Copts (Egypt)

  • The Copts are the indigenous Christians of Egypt — direct descendants of the ancient Egyptians (yes, the builders of the pyramids).

  • When Muslim armies invaded Egypt (639-642 AD), they didn't just conquer politically; they instituted a brutal system of religious apartheid:

    • Copts had to pay the jizya (extortion tax).

    • Copts were excluded from full rights under Islamic rule.

    • Churches were restricted or destroyed.

  • Over centuries of relentless persecution, forced conversions, cultural pressure, and economic oppression, Egypt was Islamized and Arabized.

  • Arabic replaced the native Coptic language.

  • Most Egyptians today falsely believe they are "Arabs," not the heirs of one of humanity's oldest civilizations.

The conquest of Egypt was not liberation. It was cultural genocide masked as religion.

3. The Assyrians (Iraq and Syria)

  • The Assyrians are one of the oldest civilizations on earth — creators of mighty empires, literature, architecture, and the first great cities.

  • They spoke Aramaic — the same language Jesus Christ spoke.

  • When Islam stormed into Mesopotamia in the 7th century, the Assyrians — largely Christian by that time — were subjugated.

  • They were forced into dhimmi status: paying heavy taxes, enduring social humiliation, and facing waves of violence.

  • Over time, through relentless marginalization and massacres, the Assyrians were reduced to small, vulnerable enclaves.

  • Today, native Assyrian Christians are almost extinct in their ancestral homelands, thanks to centuries of Islamic persecution — capped off by ISIS's recent genocidal campaigns.

The Islamic conquests didn’t "liberate" Iraq and Syria. They destroyed the living descendants of the first civilizations.

A Pattern of Destruction: Not Liberation — Erasure

Across every Islamic conquest, the pattern repeats:

  • Native peoples are declared inferior.

  • Their languages are strangled.

  • Their religions are crushed.

  • Their histories are rewritten or buried.

  • Their very memory is replaced with Islamic-Arab identity.

This isn’t an accident.
It’s not a side effect.
It’s the point.

Islamic imperialism wasn’t content to rule.
It had to dominate minds and erase souls.

🔥 Final Thought:

When you hear the myth that "Islam spread peacefully,"
remember the Berbers, the Copts, and the Assyrians.
Their blood, their silence, and their shattered civilizations are the real witnesses.

Islam was, and still is, a colonizer.
And it's time we said it — loudly.
